Take it from this runner that leaned heavily on Celadrin to finish a 50-mile race in 24 hours. At about mile-12.5, both of my legs started severely cramping. I was mid-course, so I couldn’t access anything to help me quell the cramps. It would be about 2.5 miles to get back to my pit to get some things to combat these cramps. So I sat myself down in the middle of the course and started stretching. Both calves, both quads, both hamstrings, all causing intense pain. Stretching one caused the other to flair up. Keep in mind, I hadn’t experienced any cramping before mile-15 all year as I trained for this race, so this wasn’t exactly an expected issue.
Once I was able to get myself back to my pit, the first thing I grabbed was my Celadrin cream – Deep Comforts. I lathered it on very generously. Of course, there were other things I did in combination with this to help get myself back on the course: pickle juice, bananas, electrolytes, and plenty of stretching.
